Instant Action has announced they will be porting Tribes 1 to the web browser. While I am not exactly fond of web browser games, I am fond of bringing the original Meltdown to new players. So with this, I will be reviving the old Meltdown. In this case, Meltdown Classic v1.15 will be renamed "Meltdown", and will reset it's version number, starting with pre-release versions as the original code has changed. There will also be a wiki section for the original coming up soon with a manual similar to the Meltdown 2 Manual.

The Wiki has been updated with a download for Meltdown Classic v1.16 Final which will work on both Tribes 1 Base v1.11 and Tribes 1 LastHope v1.30

Cool, I've only played meltdown once for tribes 1.  Will definitely have to check it out.

Damn I haven't seen this mod in a while.   Hi, My name is Denial and I am a very very Old Skool to the meltdown mod.  Infact I played with Clan w00, who were rebuilding the mod itself, aswell as the [GL] players with jadacyrus.  Meltdown is by far the best mod for tribes 1, and although they have it for tribes 2.  I find it to be no were near Tribes 1 Meltdown.

Am I confused Tribes 1 meltdown with the ridiculous crazy meltdown with gundams and super-fast-firing rifles that instant killed?

What do I need to Download to do a new install.  I can't find the original file, and I see on the download list there are many files.  I was thinking it was the RC1 but I'm not sure.  So, for a fresh, new install, what do I need to DL.

Due to no news on PlayTribes for several months (literally nothing), I am declaring this project dead. It's resources will be freed for usage in other projects.

I loved tribes 1, although I was only 5-7 when I played it! I remember in tribes 1 I played renegade ALL day! I also remember in meltdown the anni was a big cloud but it traveled faster.
